Is Sentinel only for Web3 communities?
No. Sentinel is suitable for Web2 and Web3 communities. Web3 is a high-pain starting market, but verification, tickets, AI support, points, tasks, and analytics are broadly useful.
Which platforms does Sentinel support?
Sentinel currently supports Telegram and Discord. Telegram and Discord have separate panels, and they can also be managed under the same account.
Do I have to use an official Sentinel bot?
No. We recommend using your own Telegram Bot or Discord Bot. Sentinel provides the panel, configuration, permissions, and data, while your bot performs actions inside your community.
How do I connect Discord?
Create a bot in the Discord Developer Portal, copy the token into the Sentinel Discord panel for verification, then invite the bot to your server. After the bot joins, the panel recognizes manageable servers automatically.
What permissions does the Discord Bot need?
At minimum, it usually needs Send Messages, Read Message History, Manage Messages, and Use Slash Commands. For role assignment, it needs Manage Roles and its role must be higher than the target roles.
How do I connect Telegram?
Create or prepare your own Telegram Bot, add it to the group with admin permissions, then bind the group and configure modules in the Telegram panel.
How does verification work?
For Telegram, the recommended flow is manual approval followed by bot mute and private verification. For Discord, users complete verification and receive a base role that unlocks the right channels.
Will AI support make things up?
AI support is designed to answer only from the knowledge base and community rules. Low-confidence, high-risk, or out-of-scope questions should be escalated to humans instead of guessed.
What can points be used for?
Points can support leaderboards, task incentives, raffle entries, shop redemptions, roles, and community perks. The core idea is to connect user behavior with clear expectations.
Does Sentinel still use /checkin?
We do not recommend making check-in a main-group spam command. Message-based activity scoring or dedicated command channels / topics are better patterns.
What task types are supported?
Automatic tasks include messages, invites, votes, and other bot-detectable actions. External tasks include screenshots, links, forms, and on-chain records that require admin review.
Why not emphasize raffle participant count?
In cold starts, participant count can create negative feedback. Users care more about whether they have a chance. Showing odds, status, and results is more useful.
What is the difference between Telegram Forum Topics and Discord channel IDs?
Telegram uses topics for targeting inside Forum groups. Discord uses channel IDs for module targeting. The goal is the same: reduce main-chat noise and keep actions in the right place.
Are Telegram tags native member tags?
No. Telegram Bot API does not expose normal member tags. Sentinel currently uses admin custom titles as an identity display substitute, subject to bot permissions and Telegram API limits.
How is Sentinel priced?
Current plans include Free, Pro, and Buyout. Pro is 5U / month, Buyout is 50U one-time, and annual Pro receives 20% off. Exact permissions should follow the plan display in the console.
Can features be customized?
Yes. Customization is suitable for verification flows, point rules, task review, ticket wording, AI support materials, multi-community management, and subscription-permission logic.
